Welcome to Francis Scott Key!
This web site is developed by our PTA to provide vital school information and learning resources for our families as well as prospective students. I hope you will find our web site helpful.
Faculty and staff, students, parents, and community volunteers, all agree: Francis Scott Key is a great place to be! Our staff members work closely together to provide the best educational experience for our students. We nurture them in a caring environment and provide support for them to succeed. I’m proud of our students’ academic achievement which has earned our school the California Title I Academic Achievement Award numerous times in past years. Although we are no longer a Title I school due to some demographic changes, our students continue to strive to achieve.
Parent involvement is an integral part of our success. Our parents stand behind our school goals and provide leadership for the school to get better every year. They actively participate in school activities as well as in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the school programs through their involvement in the School Site Council and PTA.
Our school also has strong ties with the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center (SNBC). It partners with SNBC to provide an ExCEL after school program to serve 300 K-5 students until 6:00 p.m. every day.
Our school is currently undergoing a modernization project to improve our facilities. It is scheduled to complete by June 2012.
