Art In Action

Message from your FSK AiA Curator

Welcome new families, teachers, and support staff, and welcome back to returning families, teachers and support staff. We are now in our second year of Art in Action and things are moving quickly. For those who would like to learn more about the curriculum, parent training sessions take place in September.

Each grade will have up to 12 lessons per school year. Each classroom will select one piece of art to represent their class for both our

Fall Ortega Library Show, November 4-10, with Opening Reception November 6th, 6:00-7:00pm, and our

Spring Ortega Library Show, April 7-12, with Opening Reception April 9th, 6:00-7:00pm.

Every student from every class will select their favorite creation for our School Wide show, which takes place on Friday, April 25th, in our school Auditorium. During this show, students may act as docents and describe their works. For all shows, light refreshments are provided by the PTA.

Each Grade Level has a Lead Docent to oversee and coordinate class docents and teachers, the art selection, mounting, and installation process. You may also call on me to assist with ongoing classroom displays in the halls of our school. We have display space available for every classroom, whether you have a bulletin board or not.
