The FSK PTA would like to publicly thank two donors who made the Gala children's party a rocking good time. Escape from New York Pizza @ Haight St.
& Bi-Rite Market
Escape from New York Pizza donated all the pizza the kids went crazy munching all night. Bi-Rite donated several platters of appetizers to get them going right away. If it were not for these two donors, the children might have come creeping upstairs from their party lair like a pack of safari animals. Luckily the the equally well fed and imbibing adults didn't need to ration. Win Win!

Francis Scott Key has been recognized by California Business for Education Excellence and placed on its honor roll for 2012 due to our success in raising student academic achievement.
Excerpts from the letter received read:
After an extensive analysis of student achievement data for every public
school in California, your school stood well above the rest in getting
your students to grade level proficiency and beyond.
It is for that reason we have named you a California Business for Education Excellence Honor Roll School for 2012.
...
This is a testament to the relentless focus on results for students that
you, your staff and your peers have shown over the years. It is also a
strong statement about how success is spreading in public schools
across the state.
Yea for us! Great work FSK teachers, staff and students!

International Day
is this Friday, November 30th. To volunteer contact Melissa Washington at president@fskey.org.
We celebrate the many wonderful cultures of
this world. During the school day children "travel" to different
countries with their passports and learn about what makes them unique.
Each grade level represents a different country and children learn about
the country at their grade level plus two others. They bring along
their passports and get them stamped at each country.
At night the hundreds of people come together to enjoy a potluck where
families bring dishes from their cultures or where ever they feel like.
Don't count calories on that night! |
