It's time again to celebrate all of the many cultures at FSK! International Day and Night is Friday, November 15. We are using an app called VolunteerSpot
to organize volunteers for this event. VolunteerSpot is an easy and efficient way to sign up to help and/or bring a dish to share!
During International Day, your kids will "travel" to 3 different countries where they will learn about the cultures and get their passports stamped.
For International Night, bring your family to the Auditorium for a very social International Potluck Dinner. We ask that every family brings a dish that can serve 10-12 people.
We still need volunteers so please sign up to help if you can. We prefer that you use Volunteer Spot to sign up but please email Melissa Washington if you are having trouble: email@example.com.
11:30 am -1:15 pm: Be a tour guide and help guide the classes to their next Country
4:30- 6:30 pm: Help set up the potluck in the Auditorium
6:45-7:30 pm: Help to serve food (The teacher will be serving from 6-6:45)
7:30-8:15 pm: Help clean up
**Even if you are not able to volunteer please make sure you log on to VolunteerSpot and sign up to bring a dish to the International Potluck.

We are only placing two scrip orders before Winter Break. Don't miss your chance to support FSK with fun gift cards! Print out and return the order form below by November 13. Cards will be distributed on November 20. The next order will take place in December in time for the holidays.
Please stock up now for holiday shopping and presents!!
How It Works
Scrip refers to gift certificates or gift cards. Our school is able to purchase gift cards from hundreds of retailers nationwide at a discount, which you can then buy at face value. The difference is our profit. These are the actual gift cards that you would purchase if you went to the retailer directly. By purchasing these gift cards before you shop for your everyday items - like groceries, gas, clothing – we raise money, without you having to spend a penny extra. It’s that simple.
How to Participate
Return the attached order form with your check by Wednesday, November 13. You may return your form in your child’s Wednesday envelope, but it’s best to turn it in directly to the PTA Fundraising mailbox in the main office. Your order will be ready Wednesday, November 20. We usually place orders and distribute cards once per month. We are only placing two scrip orders before Winter Break.
The Halloween Pumpkin Patch and Parade happens on Halloween day this year. Children and teachers alike get to dress up in costumes for a school-day parade that starts in the yard and goes around the block. The auditorium will be transformed into a Pumpkin Patch where each class takes a group photo and each child gets a pumpkin to take home. Top it all off with the "Haunted Hallway", goodies, hayrides in the wagon, face painting & tattoo stations. Festivities last most of the day.
Children should bring their costume -- not wear it -- to school.
Volunteers are still needed for the following:
1:30 -3:30PM Wednesday, October 30th: Set-up of Pumpkin Patch and
7:50 am -1:50 pm Thursday, October
31st: Volunteers to work during the school day at Goodie Stations, Tattoo and
Face painting Stations , Pumpkin Patch Photos and Sales, and Pulling wagon in Children’s Hayrides
1:30 pm - Clean-up of Pumpkin Patch (this is a big help)
